2016年11月22日，路易斯安纳州立大学（Louisiana State University）Robert R. Twilley教授与围填海973项目进行了座谈交流。项目首席科学家崔保山教授、课题负责人孙涛教授、学术骨干白军红教授、蔡宴鹏教授、李晓文副教授、杨薇副教授、邵冬冬副教授以及课题组研究生参加了会议。会上，王青和刘泽正博士研究生代表项目分别作了题为“Effectiveness of microtopography in facilitating plant re-establishment on bare patches of saltmarsh”和“Shifting paradigms in coastal restoration: six decades’ lessons from China”的汇报，Dr. Twilley表示对项目的研究非常感兴趣，并就研究的细节进行了交流。随后，Dr. Twilley作了题为“Ecology of Coastal Deltaic Floodplains: Example from Mississippi River Delta”的报告，详细介绍了防洪堤坝对Mississippi三角洲造成的环境问题，并提出通过Sand-Silt-Salt-Nitrate之间的Trade offs来重建三角洲湿地的恢复理念，解决实际恢复中Ecological-Settlement-Infrastructural的矛盾，并在Mississippi三角洲开展了生态工程试验。会上，双方在围填海的湿地恢复方面展开了探讨。此次会议为双方后续的交流与合作奠定了很好的基础。

Dr. Robert R. Twilley简介：

Dr. Twilley is currently the Executive Director of the Louisiana Sea Grant College Program and a professor of oceanography and coastal sciences at LSU. His research focuses on understanding the ecosystem ecology, management practices and biogeochemistry of coastal wetlands. He works on the nutrient biogeochemistry of wetland and coastal ecosystems, and on coupled ecological models of ecosystem management.
